Study Abroad
Many students in the School of Media and Design learn more about their field – in the classroom and around the world through study abroad.
Students of every major can apply for UIW’s Study Abroad program, which offers more than 140 international Sister Schools at which students can study. UIW’s European Study Center in Strasbourg, France and two campuses in Mexico are also popular destinations for study abroad students. Currently, students can take part in a Virtual Study Abroad program.
Fashion Majors
Students of the Juren Sullivan Center for Fashion Management have multiple opportunities to study fashion, production, sustainability and design in countries around the world, including semester Study Tours and visits to UIW Sister Schools.
Semester Study Tours
Each year, the Fashion Department offers a semester class in which students have the opportunity to do an in-depth study of fashion in a destination city. The class studies the city prior to taking the two-week trip to the location to understand the language, foods, and historical geographical sites. At the end of the semester they visit fashion houses and manufacturing facilities that are normally off-limits to the casual traveler. Such study tours have been conducted to New York, London, Paris, Rome, Venice, Florence, Milan, Ireland, Scotland, San Miguel de Allende, Oaxaca and Bajio, Mexico.
